Rest assured that you will be in the hands of a professional, licensed Captain, certified by the US Coast Guard, and Fully Insured. With a Custom Carolina Skiff, 23 feet in length, and a hull built for shallow waters, almost all areas of Anna Maria are accessible to catch all fish species in the surrounding waters.
The option stands to choose inshore fishing (in the bay) or nearshore (around 9 miles off the Gulf of Mexico) along Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, Sarasota Bay, Longboat Key, Tampa Bay, and the Manatee River. Trips are 4, 6, or 8 hours, and up to 6 anglers can fish aboard the 23-foot vessel. Captain Tony’s inshore custom Carolina Skiff Charter Boat is a great hull for exploring the bay and coastal flats. It’s wide; the open platform gives plenty of room and stability and is perfect for getting into some relatively shallow water to catch the big ones lying in tough-to-get-to places.

Florida Inshore Charter Fishing around Anna Maria Island
Hey there! My name is Tony “Bear” DeNavarra Jr., but I go by Captain Tony. I wanted to take a moment to tell you how I came to be a fishing guide! I was blessed to be born and raised along the Gulf Coast of Florida in the coastal city of Madeira Beach. My dad, Dr. Anthony DeNavarra, has been my lifelong fishing mentor, first introducing me to the local marine life early on. Master Captains Jason Stock and Steve Doss have also been great influences in my fishing career, as they have graciously shared their fishing skills and boating knowledge, which have helped transform me into the experienced guide that I have become today.
My dad introduced me to fishing at the ripe age of three, helping me catch my first fish. Since then I have done everything in my power to learn the most about the natural world around me, while most kids were reading Dr. Seuss, and I was diving into encyclopedias. Throughout my school years I was always the go to when other students as well as faculty needed help with anything related to animals. From 6th grade through graduation I was deemed responsible for my school’s fish tank, as well as any other type of animal enclosure. My enthusiasm for fishing fueled my passion for exploring marine habitats, and I enrolled at The University of South Florida studying, you guessed it, Marine Biology. I interned at both of the famous Clearwater and Mote Marine Aquariums. Learning about Marine Biology is where my desire to inform others about our spectacular marine environment. Wanting to explore the waters on a more personal level, I became certified in open water and nitrox scuba diving, thus fueling my love for the great outdoors.
I was lucky to have found my calling early on in life. It’s truly a blessing to be able to call this my career, and to get to continue my education through the hands-on environment that it provides. By operating a first-class fishing charter, I get the opportunity to share my passion with all of my clients. My mission is to provide you with an unbridled desire to catch fish as well as lifetime memories. I respect that we all work hard for a living, so I leave no stone unturned to provide my clients with the best opportunities. I invite everyone whether you’re a seasoned angler, novice fisherman, or families; and yes, WE LOVE KIDS! All groups are welcome to enjoy the wonderful outdoors on the West Coast of Florida. So now, please enjoy our website, pick out one of our fantastic packages, and enjoy a sunrise or sunset in this heaven on earth. I appreciate you taking your time to learn a bit about me.
Hope to see you soon!
